Body Found on Seaside Beach Remains Unidentified

The body discovered Wednesday morning October 5th on the beach in Seaside still has not been identified. Fingerprints obtained during the autopsy failed to match any in the system. Detectives have asked for the assistance of the FBI and Interpol and are using DNA and dental records to compare against missing persons from throughout the United States.

The day the body was discovered, detectives noted a bicycle attached to a city pole about a half mile from the scene. There is no indication that the bicycle is related to the deceased however it remained chained to the light pole since October 5th and was seized by the police department on October 14th.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the ownership of the bicycle or information related to who may have been in possession of the bicycle at the time it was locked down. The bicycle is described as a men’s 26 inch Fuji Cadenza red in color with a black torn seat. The lock is believed to be a Batoin key pad lock 40 MM with a company sticker “Public Storage”. There is a sticker on the down tube near the bottom bracket from “La Mesa Cyclery” in La Mesa California.
